How Much Money Did Schitt's Creek Make

Squid Game, the new Netflix series, has become a global phenomenon, drawing in millions of viewers from across the globe, all of whom are obsessed with the series and its brutal depiction of financial desperation and bloody conflict.

Though it couldn't be more different from Schitt's Creek, a comedy that showed the bright side of life, it is nevertheless fun to think about which members of the hit Canadian series would succeed if they were plunged into the game and which would be quickly eliminated.

10 Ted

Even though almost everyone in the town of Schitt's Creek is kind and empathetic, Ted is a cut above the rest. From the moment he appears, he shows that he's a genuinely nice guy - whether that's his compassion toward his clients or his repeated forgiveness of Alexis (one of the saddest things about Ted). However, it's precisely his kindness and generosity of spirit that would spell his doom if he were to compete in Squid Game, and he would be eliminated very early on.

9 Roland

The mayor of Schitt's Creek is simultaneously very sympathetic and annoying, in large part because he seems to take a special delight in making Johnny Rose's life miserable. While he's a decent guy, there's no question that he's not one of the town's smartest residents. His innate kindness and generosity of spirit, combined with the fact that he manages to land himself in trouble quite frequently, means that he doesn't really have what it takes to survive the Squid Game, let alone win it.

8 David

David is arguably the most high-strung of the Roses, prone to breakdowns at a moment's notice. He also has a lot of emotional hang-ups due to his past relationships and the fact that he has few true friends that he can count on. His greatest liability for the Squid Game, however, would be his inability to form the kind of alliances that are necessary in order to make it to the next level. Unfortunately for him, other more unscrupulous characters would be able to take advantage of his glaring weaknesses.

7 Johnny

Johnny Rose is a little more likely to win the Squid Game than his son, if for no other reason than that he was able to build up a hugely successful business essentially from the ground up. This demonstrates that Johnny has a keen sense for how the world of finance works. On the flip side of that, he is also, like so many of the other characters in the series, a genuinely nice person who would probably find it impossible to commit the horrendous acts of violence that are necessary to survive and win the game.

6 Patrick

Patrick is, in many ways, David's exact opposite, and this means that he would be more capable when it comes to the Squid Game. While David has a certain detachment from reality, Patrick is very much aware of the nuts and bolts situation (it's why he's in charge of the money part of their business).

He would therefore be quite skilled at the Squid Game, with an ability to see how the pieces fit together in a given game. He would also probably be willing to throw a few people under the bus to get what he wants.

5 Jocelyn

At first glance, Jocelyn, Roland's wife, doesn't seem like the kind of person who would do well in the Squid Game, in large part because she is always so nice and polite. As she demonstrates time and again, however, she has some ambitions of her own - such as when she ran for a seat on the council - and when push comes to shove she is able to put her own needs first and to take what she wants. In the right circumstances, she could do very well at Squid Game.

4 Stevie

Of all of the characters that appear in Schitt's Creek, Stevie is arguably the most laid-back and the most cynical, and while at first these might be a liability on Squid Game, there is also a bit of a dark streak to her character that only occasionally emerges.

If she were put into the situation of the Squid Game, she would do very well at the portions that involve the actual games themselves, and she would, if it came to it, do what she had to survive, no matter what it took.

3 Alexis

When the series begins, Alexis seems like she's little more than a vapid socialite. As the series goes on, however, she shows that she actually has a keen mind, and she also has dreams and aspirations of her own, making her one ofSchitt Creek's most inspirational characters. This would make her exactly the kind of contestant that would do very well in the Squid Game, as she would figure out what she needed to do to survive - whether that was succeeding in the games or building alliance - and she would do exactly those things. As she showed in the adventure room, she's better at puzzles than most people would assume.

2 Moira

When the Roses first come to Schitt's Creek, Moira finds the whole atmosphere unbearable, and while she thaws a bit toward the town and its residents, she's still happy to leave by the end. Time and again, she shows that she is both resilient in pursuing her acting career (including appearing in a cut-rate horror movie) and in getting out of Schitt's Creek (and adept at delivering some great Schitt's quotes). She has a certain ruthlessness and relentlessness to her character that would make her the perfect fit for a victor of the Squid Game.

1 Ronnie

Ronnie is one of the best secondary characters of Schitt's Creek, and she repeatedly shows that she is not the type of person to suffer fools lightly. Moreover, she also shows that she is one of the most competent people in the town, capable of both being on the city council and in running her own business. She would be the type of person that would understand the rules of the Squid Game and do whatever it took to make sure that she not only survived but also emerge as a victor at the end.
